Belle&Burl

We are thrilled to announce that Belle&Burl's Charleston workshop is up and running and taking orders.  Each piece is made by hand by one of our artisans to create a timeless piece that will stand the test of time in quality and style.

The Griffon Chair combines steel and luxurious upholstery to create the perfect mix for any space.

The Pierre Dining Chair is a great size dining chair that adds a nice line to the dining room table while being super comfortable for a long dinner party or to be pulled up as an additional chair in any room.

Our best selling piece, the Hampstead Table, is so versatile it can be used in a dressy living room to a more casual family room and it ALWAYS looks better as a pair!

Did you know we do custom work?  Our Hampstead Table will soon be making it's debut as a fabulous cocktail table in a formal living room.

Belle&Burl loves to go out and find inspiration for their pieces.  This Victorian spindle is Burl's favorite ....tune in to see how he uses this as a pattern for a future Belle&Burl design.

The wrapped bar can be put on casters to easily move it from room to room and can be wrapped in a variety of vinyl grasscloths and textures.

Sourcing locally in Charleston for special wood and products that are hard to find.

This Live Oak mantle was an installation by Belle&Burl in Virginia....

The Hampstead Table looks gorgeous in a painted finish!

Looking forward to sharing more of Belle&Burl's line of fine furniture and upholstery made in the USA by local artisans.

Summer Sizzle in Fritz Porter's Atelier

So...it has been one whirlwind of a summer.  While we are getting our new Charleston design office and Belle&Burl settled in to their new spaces we decided to add a little more excitement to our summer!

The Latest and The Greatest

All I have wanted to do in 2016 is get on the Blog and start shouting from the lines about all of the amazing things we have going on this year.  But between the 7,000 miles I have already driven in 2016, two adorable children, several gorgeous projects, a fleet of airstreams, and designs that keep my little head up at night- I have been slightly preoccupied.

So to smooth things over- here are a few sneak peeks of our latest adventure with Ryan Jurrius and our on going love affair with the Low Country.  Thank you to the AMAZING Banner Adams for her beautiful images....they are perfect!

Banner Photography

So if you don't know who Banner Adams is you need to.  She is not only a beautiful human being inside and out, she is a phenomenal nationally known photographer on the rise.

Banner's ability to show the true essence of a person on camera is a gift.....

Many people say "Oh photographers are as good as the equipment they use".  To capture the image of a person showing who they really are to the camera is a rare talent.  After every shoot I am totally blown away.  She nails it every time.  Her photographs are like songs that immediately make you feel a memory, she is a true artist.

Banner took this picture with a temporary camera phone (it was not an iphone!) She had two coffee cups in her hands, another cell phone and had had over 30 people take over her house for basically 24 hours to shoot a television show....and in 3 seconds took this picture.

Her ability to shift from quiet observation to enthusiastic play and thoughtful conversation helps her capture her subjects’ personalities with a remarkable eye for detail, mood and moment. She also believes creating art for the home goes well beyond unique and beautiful images. She provides design consultations for each client.

Being a designer I sometimes (ok I will honest- ALL THE TIME) want to be involved in every aspect of the process.  After using Banner for over seven years I trust her to make all of the creative decisions when it comes to my images.  When we have a meeting after a photo shoot her selections are always the best ones.  Because I make so many decisions everyday for others, it is such a joy to be able to have someone know what I like and handle everything from start to finish!

Banner Photography is based Charleston, SC.  More of her beautiful work can be seen on her website www.bannerphotography.com  and make sure you like her Facebook Page here!
